Rene Carayol MBE expresses: “I have yet to see anyone achieve their leadership potential without the intervention of a mentor. Recent research at Harvard has shown, mentees get a 16% career acceleration. The mentor, a 53% career acceleration! Why wouldn’t you? It was a stunning auditorium. At Anglo American’s London head office, I had the privilege of speaking to the brilliant mentees and mentors of the outstanding Migrant Leaders initiative. Elham Fardad, the founder and inspiration behind this ground-breaking initiative, shared with us that they now have over 1000 mentoring relationships. A huge milestone. Care and empathy blossomed throughout. I witnessed the room hone their listening capabilities and enhance their coaching. What became apparent – the power of close proximity role modelling. It felt everyone learnt, developed, and grew. Everyone felt together.”
