Anu is passionate about youth development, gender equality and criminal justice. Recognised by the Universal Peace Federation UK for her work, Anu is committed to promoting the wellbeing, empowerment and education of young people in Britain. Currently a DPhil student at the University of Oxford, Anu’s doctoral research explores the justice needs of black mothers in Britain when they are affected by family violence. With an academic background in Law (LLB Hons), Anu also holds a Master’s in Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of Oxford achieved as a Kalisher Trust Scholar.
Prior to starting her doctorate, Anu worked in partnership with Crimestoppers, Solace Women’s Aid, specialist drugs education charities and the Metropolitan Police to develop and disseminate crime prevention education across London. Anu aligns strongly with Migrant Leaders’ ethos and commitment to developing young people. She looks forward to working with colleagues to further the reach and relations of the charity with various educational institutions.
